Hi, I've had panic disorder since I was a very young child. However, I didn't know anything about what it was until I was an adult. My parents had no idea either, they just thought I was an unusually scared and nervous child. My question is, I have a 5 year old now and I'm seeing things in her that make me wonder if she too has this wretched disorder. I know kids can go through stages where they are scared of things that don't make any sense, but how do you tell the difference? She's just recently started showing these signs. I wouldn't want her on any type of medicine at all, but I wonder, if she does indeed have panic, would CBT work on someone her age and for that matter, how would it even be determined if she is a sufferer? Thanks in advance.
