How many of you have taken this during pregnancy, and how often and how much? What kind of effects has this had on the baby? I could be pregnant and so I have quit taking my .5 mg. dosage of Ativan once daily in the evenings before bed and I'm starting to feel the anxiety and panic coming back during sleep. But I'm nervous to take it if I am pregnant.

Honey I think you need to talk to your doctor. But I will tell you something my psychiatrist told me years ago. He said, "Ativan is one of the safest drugs on the market, has very little side effects, and the least harmful ones. Why I'll venture to say it's even safer than aspirin, as a matter of fact it can actually stop or delay people from developing high blood pressure." Well, I was very comforted by his comments, but he never said anything on the subject of a pregnant woman's fetus, so I really couldn't say, but you should talk to a psychiatrist's office to find out the exact effect on a fetus it would have. The reason I suggest a psychiatrist is because they are far more knowledgable than most doctors when it comes to any psychiatric medication and advice. Then if you are still uncomfortable, or just want to feel it out, ask your obstetrician as well.

As ativan is a tranquilizer and addictive, I would talk with my doctor before using it, just to be safe for the baby. I know some drugs can pass through the blood and others don't, so you will definitely need to talk with a psychiatrist on this one as they are the most knowledgable about these types of meds. Congrats on your little one!!

PLEASE go talk to your doctor. I have been on Ativan for 15 years and have not been able to carry a pregnancy to term. Talk to your doctor, the first trimester is so important, and they really don't want you to take it then. In rare instances if your panic is bad enough they will work something out with you regarding how to take it. Ativan is highly addicting, and you have to make sure the baby isn't born addicted. Please talk to your doc ASAP.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
