so this past summer i had a j-tube placed. my odc told me not to get in the pool as the chemicals would hurt. i was wondering if anyone out there has a j-tube and if they were able to go in the ocean. my hubby's fam recently moved to florida, and we are hoping to go visit this summer. i would really love to get in the water.....i will be seeing my doc next month and plan on asking him then, but just wondered if anyone out there has any advice? thanks!

Forgive me as I am new to many of these treatments. My CP is autoimmune diagnosed by blood work and an endoscopic ultrasound. What is a "j tube"? Is it the same as a "j pouch" (a procedure done to create a colon from the small bowel after the original is surgically removed)?

a j-tube is short for jejunal feeding tube....because most of the time i could not eat and what little i did eat caused such horrible pain add to that malabsorbtion syndrome, caused starvation....so my gi placed a feeding tube into my small intestines just past the pancreas and i have a pump that runs a liquid nutrient into me 24/7...this tube allows me to get the nutrition i need and still allow my pancreas to rest...i've had some trouble with mine...the hole in my abdomen burns from the drainage and i have alot of pain where the balloon is....oh with a j tube on the inside is a balloon that is suppose to hold it in place...it is similar pain to a pancreatitis flare...not quite that bad though...on feb 10th i will find out if i'm ready to have it removed soon....the doc that placed it said 6 months to 2 years, and he has been leaning more to the 2 yr mark....i'm hoping not! if you ever have any questions, feel free to message me....i'm homebound, so i'm online alot...hope you have a good day!

My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
