Hi all, my last acute attack (#3) was in late November 2013. I have been mostly symptom free since January, just a few uncomfortable days here and there but no pain. Until about a month or so ago when the left side of my abdomen started to become bloated, hard as a rock and very uncomfortable. It is very noticeable if I wear a tank top or other form fitting type of shirt. I look like I'm 7 months pregnant and mostly just on my left side. My clothes are uncomfortable and I've actually gained 5 or 6 pounds. Last week I noticed that my stool was much more loose than usual, and when I looked in the toilet there was oil floating in the water. This week my digestion has nearly stopped and I have had a horrible foul smelling burping and my stomach is starting to hurt off and on. Not acute pain but I am taking all this as a warning. I have gone back to mostly soups and mushy foods, but I am also diabetic taking insulin 4 times a day so I'm forever trying to balance what I should and shouldn't eat. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do besides diet to get my system back to "normal". My Dr. is a very nice and caring man but clueless about Pancreatitis and I have horrible insurance. I am constantly low on funds just trying to stay on top of my meds and regular Dr. Apt's. I have never seen a specialist and have never had anything but Google searches to help me figure out what i'm supposed to be doing. Any advise is welcome!
