My Mom has been in hospice for 2 weeks now. The first week she was very very week, and could hardly stay awake for any length of time. She has been on 25mcg Fentenol patches, which may contribute some. But the last couple of days she has been getting so much better. She can walk now without the aid of the walker....is awake most of the day. I have heard that in the final stages you get a burst of energy....but this seems more than that. It's so hard to understand how she can go from what we thought was a rapid downhill slide....to being back to almost her normal self. Has anyone heard of this?? I just don't know what to expect next....
