My mom died of pancraetic cancer in July. It was so awful. She lived 16 months after her diagnosis but as we know, this disease is a terrible way to die. I am so rageful about it all. She was healthy her whole life. The only thing I can think to do is to joing the PanCan Network www.pancan.org and try to help with advocacy to get dollars for research.
My mom was my only parent. My dad left when I was 4. So I am am orphan now. And I am furious that she had to die and die like this.
I can't believe how bad it all feels, and I am so sorry for anyone going through this.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

I got a very interesting note ths morning that I think many of us agree with. This board does not see much activity because this horrible disease takes our loved one so fast that we end up on the Bereavement Board. In addition to any of our activity with PanCan and other organizations, I hope we will all post here more. I think people don't know much about this disease. I just hope we can raise awarenesss, even at Daily Strength for pacreatic cancer. Caroline
There is so much we can all do if we write everyone on all our address lists and ask them just to read the PanCan work and ask that if they can find it in their heart, add to the effort. We can't stop, we must get the word out.
