Painful Intercourse Support Group
Dyspareunia is painful sexual intercourse, due to medical or psychological causes. The term is used almost exclusively in women, although the problem may occur in men. The causes are often reversible, even when long-standing, but self-perpetuating pain is a factor after the original cause has been removed.
I finally went to a doctor that actually believed I was in pain! He had no idea what to do, but he sent me to a pelvic specialist. He understood my pain. He had me go to pelvic physical therapy. I was going once a week in which I got almost like electricial therapy to train my muscles. In between sessions I would do kegel exercises to keep my muscles trained. I am by no means 100% better, but I have seen improvement. It still hurts when my boyfriend enters me, but it is much more bearable. The therapy also gave me a cream that actually numbs that area so I won't feel as much pain. I feel that these things have helped a lot. Like I said, I am still experiencing pain and my doctor stated that it will take some time to recover.
I am just happy that someone finally believed me! If anyone would like to talk about this please feel free to message me. Just know that there is help out there and to keep working at it.
It might work fantastic for you, but for me it wasn't as helpful as my physical therapy.
