The heart is a hollow, muscular organ in vertebrates responsible for pumping blood through the blood vessels by repeated, rhythmic contractions, or a similar structure in annelids, mollusks, and arthropods.
I am a 31 year old female. I smoke cigarettes. My heart has been beating funny for the past month. I went to the doc yesterday and he ordered blood tests which I had today and then I have an ECG on monday. The doctors said that my heart is having extra beats. When it happens, it feels like a flop in my chest. I am trying not to freak out about it. My father died at 28 from heart failure, although drugs were involved in his death. If anyone has any words of wisdom, it would be much appreciated. Thanks
