I am new to this but need support. As a licensed counselor I have been trying to help my 8 year-old son on my own and coach my husband along the way. This has proven to be a bad idea because I am so tired and emotionally drained. We are finally at the point of making the dr. appt. to have him evaluated for medication. He suffers from ADHD and ODD. I need some help in regards to what has proven to be effective for some of you in this community. We are exhausted after doing this for so many years with him. We have only been using behavioral interventions (ex. positive/negative reinforcement, behavior charts, etc.) Anyway, HELP if you can or at least give me some hope that this will resolve itself at some point.
