Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) Support Group
Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) an ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile, and defiant behavior toward authority figures that goes beyond the bounds of normal childhood behavior. When a child cannot seem to control his anger or frustration, even over what seems to be trivial or simple to others, the child will often react in violent or negative ways to his own...

Hi everyone,
I just had a meeting on Thursday with 4 teachers, 1 principal and 1 counsellor. One teacher was downright rude and I really wanted to smack her. We all started out on our son's positive qualities and she piped up and said, condescendingly "oh, I feel so bad now as I didn't realize we were doing positive things...I only have negative". The counsellor was great and really offered some working solutions and the 1 teacher stayed after the others left while I had a mini melt down. She was a saint. I was so wound up and nervous as this wasn't my first "intervention" type of meeting.
I have Fibromyalgia so dealing with stress is devastating. I had been dreading the meeting for days. We are in the process of selling our house and got a call tonight for a surprise viewing for tomorrow. I'm also off for a 2 day conference tomorrow morning so trying to get stuff packed. I forgot to take one of my pain pills so tonight and ended up just breaking down from overload. A Fibro symptom is Fibro Fog (foggy memory), so I was sitting there trying to figure out my pain pills, if I needed to take one or not for over 20 mins. Aaaaagggh!
My son came up to me and hugged me saying he was sorry I had pain, and then gave me a little shoulder rub. I love moments like this as it makes me want to continue on.

I am so sorry to hear that you have to deal with such teacher's as that one that was so negative..my son's teacher is negative as well..it's like that's all they see, they don't see the positive and the child get's blamed for absolutely everything. I'm really hoping that you are having a better day today, even though you have to leave town on a conferance, and your house if being viewed..Some times in life it just seems like what goes on in our lives keeps us so busy we can't calm down. One thing i try to remember is when we take time out of our busy lives to thank God for what he has done and what he has given us, than it seems like God calms us down from the rafters and we are able to deal with things in a better way..Good luck to you!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
