Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
I am also ashamed when I go to the sub shop and have to tell the EXACTLY how to make my sandwich. I cant NOT stand when the dressings touch the meat... they must go on the bread and then the cheese on the dressings THEN the meat and veggies... I even have to have the meat on one side and the veggies on the other side of the hoggie roll befor they close it or I have extream anxiety and often wont even eat the sandwich. Thank god I only go to one sub shop and they are use to me.
What really bugs me is my daughter whi is 3 this month is already a nail bitter... fingers and toes to the point of making them hurt... I know with age she wont (I hope) be able to bite her toe nails but I do worry that she will have this habbit of mine for a life time.
Oh and I do substitue odd things to 'fidget' with if I dont ahve a nail to bite...
My most embarrasing thing is when i am out in public i stare at ppl till they look the other way. Have no idea why i do this but i just do.
