Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

It appears my 10yr old daughter has OCD.
She has always been strong willed and had funny little ways, but she is now obsessing about toileting. She cannot leave the house without going and if she has been off the toilet for as much as 2 minutes before we walk out the door, she will then have to go back to her toilet and change her underwear again. This also happens no matter where we are, she will need to go right before we go and she carries spare underwear every where she goes and uses almost a roll of paper each visit. I am scared for her, as she has only recently confided in me and since then it seems to have manifested. She is a tiny build and a very fussy eater. We have not seen anyone yet, I am just having her physical parts double checked to rule that out. Please help?

Hi mmother, I am a mum of a 13yr old who has been diagnosed with OCD 6 months ago. To be sure I would advise keeping a diary of her funny little ways and if your daughter will confide in you try ask her what makes her carry out this behaviour! My son was very low when his OCD started to spiral and became out of control taking over his daily life. He hasnt been to school since February and is now seeing a therapist to help him. He started OCD with some funny little ways. Hopefully you can seek some help please dont leave it if you heart tells you this is OCD.

A friend sent this to me..As far as I can see, grief will never truly end.It may become softer overtime, more gentleand some days will feel sharp. But grief will last as long as Love does - ForeverIt's simply the way the absence of your loved onemanifests in your heart. A deep longing accompaniedby the deepest Love some days. The heavy fog mayreturn and the next day, it may recede.Once again, it's...

I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
