Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Support Group
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.
My obsessive thoughts about things in general can be really distracting. I imagine myself doing all kinds of things that I would never want to do, and then I fear that I might lose control of myself and suddenly do something awful.
"this is the OCD honey...You get one bad thought in your head....and it turns and it turns and it turns. I had the same thoughts...Things that I saw on TV I would question myself ( deppresive moms killing their kids, used to see horrible visions with my thoughts, Molestation, Lesbianism, anything, Being satans child would go through ny head)I learned to tell myself that it was the OCD, NOT me! Honey you will not do this. Please don't get down on yourself. You are not a freak"
We can relate with eachother on so many things.you are not alone.
