OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions.

Can someone give me an example of how CBT works for violent thoughts? I have all these CBT anxiety books that says to write down your thought, label it, and then put a more rational thought in place. I am not really thrilled at my therapist right now as i feel he isn't helping me a bit. Is that how this works for Pure O too or is there something I can do differently. I also noticed that I have thoughts more geared toward...what if I have a thought? or obsessing about past thoughts I have had more than actually having the violent thoughts themselves. I am also more worried about going crazy too. Can anyone relate?
