Every week on the news it's another food recall, something else that could possibly kill us. then the researchers; say that the hormones in meats are causing our children to develop faster, come on, I mean my nine yr old granddaughter has breast! I didn't have those until I was 13. I take responsibility for the bag of cookies I eat on occasion, but can I blame it on something in my food? Part of it? Maybe? A tiny tiny bit? lol!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
But seriously, the way our food is made is a TON different than the way our grandparents' food was--even a lot of our parents'. We're eating meat and produce from across the country, and around the world, and we don't know how it was chemically treated; whereas even 50 years ago, produce didn't fly to us--it was trucked in from the closest farms, or grown on your own. At that point, there also weren't frozen dinners, boxed meals, or fast food--a lot of things we rely on...and probably eat too much of.
So, while I don't think we can "blame" the food (darn!), I do think the food has a very real role in the growing trend of overweight and obesity.
