I watched an interesting show about the body over the weekend. A study was done in another country where they took men & woman and gave them a 2 week diet but in the first week they added lowfat milk, lowfat cheese, lowfat yogurt, etc. (Only difference in the two weeks was the dairy, otherwise the diet was the same) All lowfat dairy. Both weeks the people had to collect their bowel movements in containers and drop them off to a lab. At the lab it was frozen, rolled with a rolling pin (in a baggie), formed into a round hockey puck shape and roasted, then it was studied. It was found that the week that dairy was included, there was more FAT in the bowel movements! The study concluded that drinking milk "slimes" the intestines so that it won't absorb as many calories as well as "clings" to the fat you eat binding it and expelling it in your bowel movements. I guess that's why it is GOOD to drink milk on a diet. We should get plenty of calcium as it should also bind to the fat!! I love milk, so this was great news for me....
