Ok, I guess this would only attain to females, but I guess it could go both ways. Anyway, I just wanted to vent and ask.
I've always been told by family about how pretty I am, and they would ALWAYS say I'd be more attractive if I weren't so heavy. That and I'd hear, "Oh, she's got such a pretty face-but she's too fat"
Rather sucks for self esteem. I guess the worse case, I mean the one time I actually cried was when I overheard a conversation between my ex-crush and his friend. We were in his room, and I went out to get a cd or something and when I came in I overheard:
"Dude, you've got a fatty that likes you!"
Well, yeah but she's a cool friend
"You'd go with her!?"
No, well, she's pretty but I'd date her if she were a lot thinner. I'm not into girls like her
I pretty much left and ignored him after that.
Really sucks/hurts when that happens. :(

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
But yeah... what a back-handed "compliment"!
That story about the ex... I am sorry. That is harsh. But, he sucks for missing out on what you have to offer.
Anyway, you are better off. Even if you were thinner, this individual would have never really been interested in anything other than a superficial relationship...
As for that boy, around that age guessing maybe in his early 20s? at least sounds like a boy mentality... a lot of boys care too much what their friends say. He may have liked you but wasn't man enough to say so... he might not be so shallow when he grows up. But, any boy or man who lets other people put you down is not worth your time.
'you're a beautiful girl, why don't you take care of yourself?"She always thinks she's being nice, when she's really being mean. In high school I had this guy who was like my best friend, and I thought I was in love with him,and my friend called me and told me"hey he said your so pretty, and If you lost weight you would be hot." and then she goes" so just lose the weight and I bet he'll go out with you." If it was that easy i wouldn't have been fat in the first place!!!
I could stand in a puddle of a backhanded-complimenter and not even get my feet wet.
anywho, thank you everyone.
