im interested in hearing from anyone of you who have had GASTRIC BYPASS, or MINI GASTRIC BYPASS about your surgery.
im especially interested in knowing how long was your recovery time in the hospital?
what steps, proceedured did you have to follow at home?
just about anything you can think of about the process in a nutshell.
THANKS SO MUCH

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...

here is her previous post:
Getnsmaller Hi, I had a gastric Bypass this past January 10th. Prior to having gastric bypass you will have to go through a series of tests. And you will meet with a social worker to determine your mental state. The surgery can be done through laparoscopy or a through a full incision. It depends on what they see when they use the laparascope. If the person is extremely obese then they may have to open up the abdomen which takes a little longer for recovery. I tried to loose as much as I could on my own prior to the surgery try to exercise if at all possible. Make sure you do all your research before you because you will have to eat healthy after the surgery for the rest of your life in order for it to work. A lot of people think that they just go in have their stomache stapled and then they can continue pigging out but if you do you will stretch out your pouch all over again and then gain that weight if not more! You have really got to be at the end of your rope, and fully committed to alter your whole way of eating as you know it for life for the surgery to be a success. Has your doctor discussed the lapband? Maybe that would be a good alternative. The lapband can be removed. Unlike the gastric bypass which is irreversable once it is done. Hope I was able to shed some light on this for you. Take care.
