Recently all I want is carbs. It's strange, but we don't keep anything in our house except wheat bread, wheat noodles, and brown rice. We also eat a lot of nutrition bars, bars that are high in protein and/or fiber. I have only been interested in these items. Especially the nutrition bars because they are sweet. I just want bread and anything sweet. But there are plenty of opportunities in my life to eat white noodles, bread, and white rice. Like when we go out to eat, or when we eat prepared foods like frozen dinners. (we have drastically cut back on prepared foods recently, and are cooking a lot more from scratch). And honestly, we kind of want to eat the right things, but we really haven't gotten completely serious about staying away from the bad things. In fact, I think we actually seek out opportunities to eat the simple carbs. Sometimes, (but not always), I do try to eat the right thing if given the choice between that and something bad (and then I reward myself for this with a slice of chocolate cake). I have heard that simple carbs are addicting, in the same way a drug or alcohol can be. Is there anything I can do to "recover" from carb addiction?
