I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Please consider changing your screen name. Certainly here your among friends, and we dont think of you in that light. What has worked well for me is counting calories. Some folks will say "That doesnt work." If its done correctly you will lose. First consider that maybe your genetics predispose you to being big. That said... we all need a different amount of calories to maintane body weight. I found through trial and error I can maintane my weight at 1500 calories a day. I went for almost three months on 1500 and lost nothing. When I dropped down to 1200 I started to lose weight. So whats normal for you? I dont know, but start by getting a GOOD calorie counter book. Now write down everything you eat and measure the amounts, dont guess. See how many calories your eating and if your gaining, losing, or staying the same. Then adjust until you start to lose. If your hungry.. eat low cal... but more. Stay within the confines of your calorie allotment. I promise you if you eat less calories than you burn each day you will lose. If you eat more you will gain, and at some point you will maintane. It will take a few weeks but after that eat wisely and limit fat and sugar calories and watch what happens! Good luck, feel free to ask me any questions, if I can help. AND KNOW THIS... we are all behind you and want you to succeed!
I do understand those who disagree tho.
Usually the reason some think that calorie counting doesn't work is that they just cut the calories but continue to eat unhealthy things like Carbs, sweets and things they shouldn't have.
If one wants to succeed at counting calories, then it must be done while eating the most healthy of foods. cutting out carbs and increasing protein.
Protein feeds muscle, and muscle burns calories. 123 see?
I'd keep a food and activity journal for at least 1 week and take it into your doctor for review. It could be health or medical issues too.
The best way to figure it out is a food/activity journal and then have a professional review it. That's just my opinion.
