Ok, I faithfully watch the Biggest Loser on NBC every week and I've got a question. You see these people lose anywhere from 0 to 30 lbs a week (on average 5-9 lbs/week). I know they literally exercise their hineys off, watch their calories and workout with great trainers but is that fast of weight loss healthy? You always here about doctors saying losing more than 2 lbs a week is unhealthy (and I know the show says these folks are monitored by doctors).
So, what gives? Is it healthy or not? Personally, I say more power to them! But what about the rest of us out there? Is it safe? Should we do it? Anyone out there trying it out themselves? What are your results?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I agree that everyone loses weight at different speeds, depending on their circumstances at the time. I've personally yo-yo dieted for so long that it's messed with my metabolism... plus I'm 35 so I think things are naturally starting to slow down. I have great respect for anyone who can stick to their goals and if the folks on the Biggest Loser can do it... and keep it off... we all have a shot at it!
I hope it isn't true because I love the BL (especially Bob - yum!) and would prefer to think that it is all honest and above board.

first of all, those people on the show all live on a campus & have no job, no family life, no personal life to deal with. They are given personal trainers to motivated them 24/7 & are given the opportunity to become the biggest loser & win tons of money. This is sooo not real world where we are left to our own devices... alone yet still needing to be able to function in society as an obese person trying to make a living.
