Hi everyone. I'm new here because I'm really in need of a support community for losing weight and improving my health.
I've fought my weight all of my life and now that I'm 50, I'm reaping the results of that with painful knees and a new diagnosis of sleep apnea.
Two years ago I lost 120 pounds. I weighed yesterday and I am up 89 pounds.
I just don't understand how that can happen. I'm not stupid. I knew I was gaining weight. But goodness GRACIOUS it seems to come on fast and easy after a weight loss.
I can look at everything I've done wrong in the last year, and I won't whine about it, but this just feels like a curse that will probably put me in an early grave.
Not to be depressed: I'm motivated, excited about making changes, figure I've learned something YET AGAIN, and am hopeful that finding some people to share this rocky road with will help.
I guess I'm looking for inspiration and hoping that folks here have found some solutions.
Thanks for listening ~ lynette

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Stay strong, *Hugs*

Deb, fortunately my heart's great (for now). It won't be if I keep this up. I've got well managed high blood pressure and now something called "inflammation," which can be cured by the anti-cholesterol statin drugs. I can't take those ~ they cause muscle pain ~ so the prospect of this "disorder" (for lack of a better word) has motivated me to make the dietary changes necessary to fight inflammation naturally. I'm steadily checking off the fat-related illnesses. I don't have diabetes and I don't have significant heart problems. I MUST get a grip on this food thing now. Thanks for the suggestion.
LyndaC ~ you're probably where I'll be in 10 years if I don't get going on making permanent changes. Why is it so hard?? I'm great out of the chute, not so hot in the long run. Thanks for your encouragement.
