OK. I had a sleep study done and the doc is concerned that I have a MILD form of narcolepsy. Any one else have the same thing? I am 27 and this all happened so sudden. I started feeling sick - flu or cold. Then I slept the WHOLE month of April. My doctors made me stay home from work and go to specialists and I had test after test. Finally in June I was sent to a neurologist who ordered the sleep study - forgot what it is called - but the one where you take 4 naps the next day. Anyway I went for the follow-up today and he said I possibly have a mild form of it. I was shocked because all the other docs said it was probably some sort of virus (I had various symptoms in April - sleeping, fevers, headaches) They thought I had post-viral infection fatigue. Ends up now possibly narcolepsy? I was confused. I checked out some stuff online and it said that sometimes narcolepsy can happen after a virus. I am wondering if this is what happened. Did any of you have that happen? Any information you could give me would be much appreciated. I feel like I am losing my mind. Of course everyone I know has offered their thoughts. The worst was people saying "it's all in your head" or "you are probably depressed" I have also noticed that since this started I misplace things and forget appointments. I have lost credit cards, keys, cellphone, I even forgot about my doc. appt. today after I was reminded yesterday. Today I had someone laugh and say well you are not sleeping too well at night of course you are going to be tired during the day. The neurologist has put me on a sleep schedule so I will see how that goes tomorrow morning. I used to be a morning person. It was my time of the day when I had the most energy and got the most done. Starting last summer that started to change. I noticed at work that I felt more energized and worked much faster in the afternoon. Now over the summer it seems like 8pm and on is when I feel I have the most energy. Not sure what is going on with me! Help!
