I had mono twice in college, and have never been the same since. I've been constantly tired and the doctors were telling me I'm just worn out. I graduated college in 1996 and recently my symptoms have gotten much worse. In June of 2007, I had a dramatic increase in daytime sleepiness. I go to work, come home, and most nights am asleep by 5:00. I usually sleep until morning. I had a 22 hour sleep study done. My sleep patterns are totally normal, although I have "unrefreshing sleep". Previously, I had thought I had CFS, but the sleep study showed I have idiopathic hypersomnia. It's apparently related to narcolepsy. Although I am sleepy all the time, there is no sudden onset. For the nap study, I never fell asleep. I cannot live like this. I never see my children, and have had to stop all the activities I enjoy. Please give me suggestions. Does anyone else have this? Could it be something else?
