Hi, my name is Lori and I live in Indiana. I got dx with myelodysplasia Intermediate-1 a couple of weeks ago. I have had 8 blood transfusions in the last 6 months. I also have a mass in my right breast that I just got an MRI on yesterday. They also tell me I had a heart attack sometime in the last 4 months. Everything that I have read on the Internet says that if I stay relateively healthy in other areas, then my prognosis is about 5 years to live. How many of you have had that frequent of blood transfusions? How many of you have been told how long you have to live? I go on Monday for a drug stress test for my heart and won't get the results of my breast MRI for 9 days. Have any of you gotten cancer in any other part of your body other than your blood? I am sorry for so many questions, but at this point I have a lot. Have to tell my 3 grown sons this weekend also about this disease. Thanks for listening and I am glad to have found this group!

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
