I was diagnosed with MG January 2009. Before that, I played college soccer and was in top physical condition. I then became a police officer. When this hit me, I was in complete shock. It got to the point where I could only hold my one year old daughter for a couple of minutes before my arms would give out on me. I cant even run now without feeling like my legs are going to give out on me. After being diagnosed, I began taking half a tablet of Mestinon three times a day. After about two weeks, it did not seem to be working, so I began taking a full tablet three times a day. Two more weeks went by and my strength went down. I now am taking half a tablet five times a day. I also am taking a 20mg Prednisone tablet one time a day. I have been taking these medications for exactly 4 weeks. Is is going to take time for me to gain my strength back? If so how long? Im just kind of wondering how long to expect to feel this weak and if I will ever gain my strength back.
