X Periment with the Dark (or Milky) side

LarryLDN
Anyone who eats a lot, especially craving, dark or milk chocolate, should try an experiment.
Stop, cold turkey, for 4 weeks. Take notice how SX are during the 3rd & 4th week.
Then see if they come back if/when you start eating it again.
If chocolate/cocoa is keeping/causing symptoms, 3 weeks without any should show a difference, seems to take 3 weeks to get out of your system completely.
I wonder if the biggest SX complainers/sufferers are the biggest chocolate/cocoa eaters/cravers. I also wonder why someone wouldn't give up something for 3 to 4 weeks (or wait for Lent, then try it) and see if their health improved 1-3 EDSS points in a month.
Wouldn't that be something.
Oh well, back to dreamland.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
and what would you do if you felt better after 22 days, and then started eating it again and the SX came back?
to me it's a no brainer, it's poison, it would kill me; 1998 proved that.
on LDN I can eat chocolate, but it gives my system a run for the money, so I don't continue eating it
but in the 80s it nearly killed me, and it was good in 90s because I finally gave in to not eating it, but in 1998 when it was a secret ingredient it was nearly enough to get me DX then. I didn't pursue it, I stopped drinking French Vanilla coffee, it uses cocoa. as does dunkin donuts flavored coffees
I'll bet half of the MS SX people have is from chocolate.
It was even suggested in 1998 that it was MS and I told my friend and doctor NO WAY, NOT ME. Well, they were right. 2002 finally got me to a neuro for the DX.
it's definitely cocoa/chocolate
in 1972 when I had the prick tests, chocolate made my arm triple in size. they never saw a reaction like that
in 1981 I had a 'mystery illness', nobody suspected chocolate but it was the same sx that triggered them
in any case, it could be that chocolate is just poison to ME.. except for all those websites with other people thinking it triggers attacks and sx in them, too.
but in this thread, I'm only daring people who CRAVE chocolate to give it up for 4 weeks and report back after 3 weeks
the people who CRAVE it are the ones that are most likely their own worst enemy
but I dare anyone to give up chocolate for a month and tell me how they feel in comparison
ya think anyone would?
but once in a blue moon every 4-6 months I will have a piece. I have noticed nothing, but since I had some tonite I will watch for sx
thanks
