What the heck do they mean by flu like symptoms? Which symptoms? And how bad are they? How long does it last and how hard is it to get over? Great, just what I need, something else to make me feel bad!

I think if you have those side effects, you'll Know it.

I felt very hot (temp wise) the first few nights after taking Rebif. Like, I woke up sweating and had to have a fan blowing right on me even though it was cool outside already. It went away when I starting taking ibuprofen just before my shot. Now, I have nothing. I know some people get worse side effects but not me.

I put off taking rebif for about a year. I was scared of all the listed side effects. Ever since ive been on rebif i have had almost no side effects from the treatment. I regret not going on it immediately. My neuro suggested that new treatment Tysabri but i declined it cuz rebif has been real good to me. :)

I have been on rebif for over a month. I had one awful day when I just felt disgusting. I wouldn't describe it as flu like, though. And I had one night similar to the one Julie described - very hot and uncomfortable. I started on a very small dose and gradually ramped it up. My rebif nurse gave me lots of helpful suggestions and I haven't had any trouble. Please free to msg me if I can help further.

I actually called MS Lifelines to ask them if something was wrong with my immune system b/c I've had no side effects at all from Rebif - no flu like sx, no inj site reations, nothing! The one thing I've had has been really crazy dreams...turns out "vivid dreams" is a documented adverse effect. I, like you, was dreading starting this, but everything from the shots w/ the auto-injector to the side effect have turned out to be a non-event. Hopefully you have the same experience - Good Luck! Diane

I WAS on ReBif for a few years. I would sometimes, but not always, have body aches, and wake up at night with chills. Stopped ReBif in early November, and still awoke last night with chills, huh? Maybe leftover effect! Good Luck With it! DD

I've been on rebif for 3 or 4 months now (now remembering to take it is another story) and for the most part i've never had flu like syptoms. the one time i did i thought i was dying. my head hurt i was dizzy all day, my body ached and if i wasn't sweating to death i was cold as all hell wishing for one of those 100 degree summer days. but for me it only lasted the day after i took the shot. my advise is take some advil about 30 min before the shot and don't take it after 11pm (i did that one time and had that one bad day). it helps though if your dr prescribes the rx dose of advil 800 b/c it doesn't do the damage that the o.t.c stuff does to your stomach.

So far, I haven't had any flu like symptoms. I do have sight reactions so that I look like I'm a large red spotted war zone. Good luck! I'm here for you if you need to vent.

I was on Rebif and was taken off it i could not tolerate it. I am now on Copaxone even though it an everyday injection so much better than the rebif. On the rebif i was getting bad insomnia, headaches and flu like symptoms. I found if i took Nurofen Plus 1 hour after injecting then every 4hrs i would kind of be ok

I recently had to go off Rebif after 9 months but my advice is to stay well hydrated. That was huge for me!! I can't stress that enough. Also, I took Aleve 30 min. before the shot. Aleve is longer lasting than Advil and Tylenol so MS Lifelines suggested using it instead and it is safer on your stomach. Best wishes!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
