I always thought a discussion was communication between people who either agreed or didn't agree with your opinion. Whether it is about MS or your favorite book.
We all have our own opinions about everything. If we were all the same life would be so boring, it wouldn't be worth hanging around.
In discussions things can be said that can be considered rude, mean, and hurtful. Things can also be said that are supportive, warm and enduring.
If you feel that you are being attacked, perhaps the best thing is to back off. Let all the people say what they want. If you opened a discussion that fired people up, let it be known that they aren't going to sit quietly by and say nothing. No whispers or shhhhs. That's what discussions are about.
The people in this group, MS, are strong people. We have to be, considering what we have to deal with on a day to day basis. We all have different ways of dealing with our disease and I think its great that we can share that here. I also think that we are all smart enough to know that whatever methods or therapies are being used by one person may or maynot work for the next. This is why it is so important to research what you learn from the people here.
I completely believe it is everyones right to say what they will here in discussions. I just want everyone to know, that there will always be someone who doesn't agree with your opinion. That is human nature. And it shows we still have fight in us! And I think that is the best thing that comes out of these discussions!
I wish and hope that everyone here has a great day and weekend and that their health stays good.
