What do you look like?
This morning I prayed and asked God to show me something that I needed to know. Something that would help me. I just wanted to share with everyone what He showed me.
As I opened my Bible, the first thing I thought of was James and Genesis. So, I opened my Bible to Genesis 5 and began to read:
Genesis 5:1 (amplified version)
"This is the book (the written record, the history) of the generations of the offspring of Adam. When God created man, He made him in the likeness of God."
I sat there thinking about how amazing it was that God took the time to create us. And not only to create us, but to make us look like Him. To resemble Him.
I decided to look up the word likeness in the dictionary. It said that likeness means:
1. a resemblance, similarity.
2. a drawing, picture, or other representation.
I believe that God didn't just create us to look like Him, but I also believe that God created us to act like Him too! We are a "representation" of God. We look like Him and we are supposed to act like Him too. He teaches us throughout the Bible what He is like. Not just so we can understand what He's like, but also to be "Christians" - which means Christ like.
Then I read in James 1:22-24
22-"But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].
23- For if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who looks carefully at his [own] natural face in a mirror;
24- For he thoughtfully observes hiself, and thien goes off and promply forgets what he was like."
In verse 23 I just imagined a man sitting at church listening to the message. It's just like a man looking at himself in the mirror. While listening to the message, he's seeing what he's supposed to look like. It's like the preacher is showing Him what he's supposed to look like. But if that man leaves the church that day, and doesn't "do" the Word he heard, he has forgotten what he's supposed to look like!
In Genesis 5:1 we see that we are supposed to look "like" God. When we don't do the Word, we have forgotten what we are supposed to look like. We have forgotten that we are supposed to look like God!
What an awesome revelation!
Today, I've decided not to forget what I'm supposed to look like. I want to look like God and I want to be like Him too. Kind, patient, understanding, loving, compassionate, trustworthy, faithful, and all that! So, what do you want to look like?
Thanks for letting me share this with you! God bless you all!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Larry, I tried reading your links. That's too much information for an ADD afflicted member of society like myself. That's why being a Christian never worked for me. Too much reading.
Print it out and take your time :) LOL.
A lot happened since I made those posts in Jan 06, my whole world was turned upside down. Or maybe I was turned right side up and everything else was upside down.
Like the movie Everything is Illuminated
Right now the Jews are preparing to build their temple. They have made all the instruments, they have every detail ready and have even used DNA to check the blood lines of some who claim to be priest. They have to come from Aaron's blood line.
The mollusk, a very rare sea urchin that has been extinct for years was used to make the royal blue dye for the priestly robes has turned up again. Scientist can't explain why.
They have drawn up the plans and our ready, as soon as they finish it the anti- christ will defile it and will go into it. This is all coming alive and people don't see it.
The jews have been trying to find a red heifer for the sanctification of the priest, as in the book of Lev. The red heifer cannot have any hairs that are not red, its hoofs even have to be completely red.
That was one of the last things and they have finally found one perfect.
The Bible says in the last days` when you hear peace, peace beware. I am looking for someone new to come upon the scene and patch up this war between the Jews and the muslems, Arabs. Then they will build the third temple and then Christ will come back whether you believe it or not.
