Hi! The week of Thanksgiving, I ended up in ICU with what appears to have been a flare of MS. I lost control of my legs, my speech was slurred, and I had massive instabililty even in a sitting position. Within 36 hours I was walking again although a little bit unstable still. They did an MRI of my spine and brain and determined that I have lesions. They did a spinal tap and ruled out anything viral/bacterial. Since that time in the hospital and much studying, I have put many past symptoms together including rapidly deteriorating eye sight, lower back pain, moments of instability, vertigo, pain in my joints and leg muscles and some cognitive issues that I hadn't thought anything of before. I have an appointment with the Medical Director of the MS Center of the Shepherd Center next week, but in the mean time, the pain in my lower back and calves is making me miserable.
Does anyone have any recommendations for how to deal with it other than taking some Motrin and sucking it up. THANKS in advance!
