Does anyone else experience ringing in thier ears. I call it crickets in my head. It gets so loud sometimes I can't stand it. I just go to bed. It's driving me crazy! I went to a specialist they told me to try distraction... LOL

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I mainly wanted to say that the ringing in my right ear is and was one of my first symptoms. It also feels muffled in that ear all the time. My hearing showed normal on a hearing test, but it isn't as good in that ear as it is in the other one. Mine has been going on for about 5-6 weeks now, and I sure hope it doesn't last for 3 yrs. or more! It's very distracting and disconcerting. I'm so used to it now that I don't even notice it some of the time, but it never lets up. I hope yours does.
Debbie :)
Doesn't work.
When I go to bed I listen to a "sound machine." (You can buy them at Wallmart, Kmart, Target etc.) I personally perfer a "white" noise. Sort of like you are between radio stations but soothing. They also have ocean, nature, brook, a river sounds etc. I used to just turn on the dishwasher but because with MS it gets really bad then simmers down but never goes away and once you "hear it" it really gets bad, I needed something to listen to besides the ringing and it goes on vacation with always! My husband is so supportive with my MS that he now can't sleep without the sound machine either.
Believe me it has saved my life.
During the day I keep busy and work full time so it really doesn't bother me however, once in a while I have one of my ears that will start ringing really loud then my hearing in that ear becomes muffled and lasts only a few seconds then it's gone. Anyway my friends that is my saga.
Larry I love your comment! Never thought of that before...
