I just received SSD which comes with Medicare and Medicaid. I didnt even know the difference between the two until yesterday. I clearly have many things to learn and must make an educated decision as to which supplementary health plan to go with and what companies or plans to stay away from. My medications are around 2k per month like many of us here. The Avonex alone is about $1700/month, yikes! I would like to stay with Kaiser but I fear they are one of the more expensive plans available. I know the system and I like the doctors and nurses who I currently work with. The nurses are actually better than the doctors; They have been good to me and I consider them friends.
1.)Any advise as to the best supplemental insurance to sign up for?
2.What should I stay away from?
3.Any tips would be much appreciated. There are so many choices and scams out there.
The only income I have is Social Security Disability which isnt much. In other words, I am poor and need to find a Filthy Rich Female Neurologist to get hitched up with but I would settle for Filthy Rich. Help! Obviously, I am being facetious. I had the chance to marry a filthy rich gal 25 yrs ago; she asked me too! I couldnt bring myself to marry her though. To marry for money defines someone with the lowest type of character. She is a dear friend to this day, in fact she paid for my health ins while I waited for SSD to come through; Bless her heart. I could never adequately thank her enough. I fear she isnt going to let me pay her back. Each time I bring up the subject she changes the it. What would be a good gift to give her? I have and had to much respect for her to marry for money. Oh well. How did I get on this topic? I just have questions and want advise on supplemental insurance? Well. advise on a gift for her would be nice too.
