IE Zone bars, anything with flaxsed meal or Chia seeds (www.rawveganbooks.com), meat, eggs, NUTS are great and so are beans.
I make muffins with flaxseed meal, nuts, Quinoa flour (bobsredmill.com) that is full of protein every 5 weeks. Then I freeze these muffins. Family has 1-2 day to help stay regular and improve energy.
Bran Flaxseed Muffins
1 Cup Unbleached flour
OR 1C Quinoa(wheatLESS w/ protein)+ C Brown Rice Flour
1 Cup chopped nuts
Cup Flaxseed Meal
OPTIONAL: 2 Tablespoons chia seeds (www.rawveganbooks.com)
Cup Oatmeal you grind up in your food processor (This has glueten)
Cup Brown Sugar
2 teaspoon Baking Soda
2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
2 teaspoon Vanilla
Cup Milk ***
2 apples with peels ground up in your food processor
1 Cups carrots ground up in your food processor
1 Cup raisins cooked and drained (boil under medium heat for 5 minutes)
*** If you are allergic to milk you can substitute it for Cup water you boiled the raisins in for 5 min.
Mix all of the above ingredients together then spoon into muffin tin lined with cupcake paper cups.
Cup brown sugar
Cup chopped nuts
Mix together and add a little to the top of each muffin before baking at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes
All the ingredients in brick red color are Bobs Red Mill (Bobsredmill.com)products that you can find in a Whole Foods store ( I go there maybe 2-3 a year). Some these products include premixed chocolate chip (wheatless) cookies you can find at some higher end Jewel-Osco stores.
FYI - 1.5 oz Chia seeds have the same amount of magnesium as 10 heads of broccoli, same calcium as 2 Cups milk, lots protein and Omega 3s
