My brother was diagnosed a few months ago with Ms. I know it might be different for everyone but please tell me what to expect. How can I be of help to my brother and his wife.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Learn everything you can about this disease. Just be there.
Just be there and make it known you are there whatever your brother needs.
Don't over protect him. Love him and his short commings. Just be there. He will learn to ask for help when he needs you the most.
Symptoms of MS are often weird (just read this board!). His fingers tingle, he wonders if its MS. He has trouble swallowing - he wonders if it's a symptom. Is he losing his memory or is it his imagination.
A lot of his symptoms will be invisible, like fatigue, or bladder problems (hopefully invisible!).
Take what he tells you and his worry seriously.
Just support him talk with him see what you can do to help see how or if he wants this a public issue as some people with good intention start treating you like you will be dead in a month and can at times be very hard to deal with being ill and friends and relatives afraid to talk to you as they don't know what to say or don't know when to shut up. If your close to your brother and sister inlaw which I think you are talk with them
There are videos and all sorts of data there.
If you goggle, you'll bring up dozens of websites that will tell you many things about MS.
Check with the MS site first because they also offer a lot of free stuff, like cooling supplies, which your brother will probably need. I love Puerto Rico, but it can get pretty hot there. Adios, mi amiga.
