I don't feel like decorating this year. If I put the stuff up I have to take it down. I would rather just enjoy everyone else's work. Becides Christmas doesn't to anything for me anymore. I am not a Christian. I have my own holidays. Yule is not a high holy day. We get together, have a ritual, pot luck and drumming. If we give a gift is home made.
Maybe I could make a big sun for the yard, maybe that would cheer me up.

We will spend several days with my son, daughter-in-law and year old grandbaby and so I'm hoping I will get into the spirit when I see their decorations. Ms Sophie is only a year old so don't think she'll be much into the festivities.
You enjoy whatever way you celebrate or not. Wishing you very a Very Happy Winter ... Marti
Yule is the winter solstice when the days become longer. In the Celtic tradition it is call the light half of the year. With the Summer solstice the days start to become shorter and we call that the dark half of the year.
Many of the things you enjoy at Christmas come from the Pagan holiday of yule. Yule logs, Christmas trees, holly, mistletoe, wassail, and Santa Claus all come from the Pagan holiday of Yule, the return to the sun.
