Has anyone been diagnosed with pancreatits from the drugs used in treating their MS. I now have chronic pancreatiis and just am wondering just how common is among us MS'ers

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Thanks.

take care of your gut.
I stopped all drugs due to the pain, the only things i am taking now is prilosec and digestive enzymes. i physically feel better, except for the pancreas pain but that is getting better with changing my eating habits.
i had a flair up last week, but had to do a 3 day steroid indusuiion, hay did good with 2 days, my gallbladder and pancreas are quite mad right now, so now am on a liguid diet for a few days now.
i took all animal fats out of my diet, and my cholesterol is going down real fast. if you ave high cholesterol get pancreas checked. high trigliseroids are abad thing also. am learing alot and want others to benefit from my learing.
take care everyone.
I have a longtime friend who I thought was very healthy but it turns out he had a bad diet even though he looks like an old hippy and is thin. But he ate junk food. His blood pressure and cholesteral was sky high. So he changed his diet and his number went down real fast. He started eating veggies and is doing much better. So eating healthy can get you fast results if you were eating poorly.
Anyway, still I wonder about the interferons. It comes from mice ovaries or something like that. It is weird substances. Part of the reason why our sewage sludge is so bad. All the pharmaceuticals junk going down the commode from our waste is ending up in the sludge that is being recycled into our soil and our food. So we are eating all this stuff again through the food.
Our society is becoming a science fiction movie right before our eyes. And we are one of the first things to show up the signs of the chemical mix. Just look at all the support groups on DS. It is scary what is out there. Thanks for bringing up this topic. This is first I have heard about pancreatis coming from our drugs. I knew about our liver but not the rest. We really need to keep ourselves informed.
So no link for me in regards to drugs, but I wonder if there is a connection to that and MS. There is such a thing as autoimmune pancreatitis.
If you have acid indigestion or heartburn,the problem generally isn't too much stomach acid, it is too little. Approximately 47% of the people in the U.S. do not have enough, a condition called Hypochlorhydria. Adequate production of stomach acid is required to close the muscular sphincter that relaxes and constricts to allow food to enter the stomach from the esophagus. When there is no enough stomach acid, this sphincter will not close, allowing what stomach acid there is in the stomach to regurgitate into the esophagus. If you further reduce your HCL by taking Prilosec, you will continue to harm your pancreas.
BTW...I quit the Big Pharma drugs 2 yrs ago...due to no more health insurance...& it was a blessing in disguise. Although some things worsened (PAIN, spasticity, etc.)...my body & organs thanked me! I only try to use all "natural" remedies now (including MMJ...when I can...works wonders! ;)
On the other hand...I haven't been officially Dx with MS either...only Fibro & some type of unidentifiable "Mixed Connective Tissue Disease"...according to my last Rheumy. So, in light of most recent MS findings...the "steroid concoction" would be a tough choice for you to turn away from...a choice not to be made lightly! Steroids are now the ONLY way I can get over illnesses/infections now! So...I too know the hardship! {{hugs}}

I'm nervous now, lol. I have been on neurontin/gabapentin for 8 years, 3600mg/day and occasionally an extra 600mg pill, especially at flare up. I have GERD and heartburn. I was noticing that my urine smells like chemicals. I drink a lot of water but more wouldn't hurt!
Thank you,
Kevin
