I had the worst MRI in the world on Friday. My neuro ordered a brain, spinal and cervical (neck). I took a nice relaxing pill in advance because I knew this would be a long one. After 1 1/2 hours my shoulders were in pain from being cramped in this little tunnel (i have very wide shoulders too). my right hand was completely numb! they finally took me out, and thinking it was time for contrast the lady explained she didn't like the pictures from that machine, and they were moving me to a new one!!! OMG.. ok.. I can do this I thought. After another 2 hours they took me out, had me sit up and stretch before the contrast and I almost fell. My lower back was in so much pain I cried! I don't cry for any reason.. so this was a big deal. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to walk the rest of the day. They had me lay back down and do the rest. I got in the MRI room at 8:50 a.m. and left at 1:20 p.m. And they got upset with me, because I explained to them right before they stuffed me in that I am in too much pain and not sure I could go through with the rest but i'd try. Then I overheard the lady in the hall (on my way out) saying that she is so tired of them having to do two or three different MRI's because the patient wouldn't stop moving. i don't know if she was talking about me or not, but I tell you what I left very angry - at both their professionalism and their ability to do their job.
