I was just dx'd or should I say possibly dx'd with MS on Jan. 27th. I've had trigeminal neuralgia and been dealing with facial pain (electric shocks and burning pain in my lower left face) since 2006. I've had two MVD brain surgeries to help with this and got a little remission from the first and the second was totally unsuccessful. I started getting really sick at the end of 2010 and now deal with extreme fatigue, have cognitive impairment issues and the numbness in my feet has turned to pain and I get shocks in my hands. I had CSF drawn and my oligoclonal bands test was positive. I have an appointment with an MS neurologist, but can't get in until May 7th (I'm calling to get in on cancels). Here's what I'm worried about.....there were no lesions on my brain MRI. I do have a lot of scar tissue that I guess could be masking lesions, but there are none that were noted. I had a spine MRI done yesterday and I'm waiting on the results. I'm on a private disability policy and there's no way in the world I could go back to work now. Can your diagnosis be confirmed with a positive CSF test and no lesions?
