Just wondering how many people on these boards had a hard time getting dx. Anyone with no lesions or only one? Anyone out there who had more than one spinal tap to get dx?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
i never had a spinal tap
I was told by one neuro that as i didn;t have positive MR I didn;t completely meet the MCDonald criteria for diagnosis, BUT both neuro's looking at my entire picture, said I have MS.
I will tell you, based on what I have been reading, i am very "lucky" to have been diagnosed so quickly. and i am glad i was so i could jump into treatment. [although today is a crappy avonex day]
However, the caveat to this (i think) is that i am in medicine and (with the exception of the most recent neurologist) had a team of medical providers who know me VERY well and chasing the heck out of my symptoms. I would like to hope that ALL providers would be so diligent to chase symptoms, but i am not naive. I know that i got a little more attention from my colleagues because they have known me and knew that although things weren't a "slam dunk" as far as a diagnosis, soemthing was wrong and we weren't going to give up until we had an answer.
The very last test I had was the LP. i avoided it until i felt like i did not have a choice.
Hang in there and be persistent. I really beleive in the saying: if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, looks, tastes and smells like a duck its a duck!
