I was just told that my company is going to switch from our current health insurance provider on a PPO plan to Aetna, which is an HSA plan. I am a bit nervous because it doesn't seem like it's going to be the best fit for me having MS. Does anybody out there have an HSA or know about HSAs and can tell me what to expect?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
In a nut shell is your deductible is going to go way up (how far depends on the plan) but your premiums will go down. Now, say your deductible is now $5000, you can put that $5000 in a Health Savings Account and use the money (tax free) to pay your deduction. The cost of your premiums should drop about the same as your deductible goes up, but once again I do not know what you pay now so they may sock it to you, HSAs are great for healthy people because you can roll over the unused savings each year and then either use it for medical next year or invest it like an IRA. For people that spend the deductible each year, it is almost a wash compared to a regular ins policy. Once again, that all depends on how much of your premium your employer each month. Clear as Mud?
Is your company going to offer a variety of health insurance plans?
Good-luck.
