I need a disabled parking permit? I just can't get around like I used to. How do I present this to him so that I don't sound like I am just trying to get one just because. I was told if you can walk 200 feet thank you don't need one. Well I can't walk that, with feeling like I am going to collapse,my legs get wobbly and sometimes start spasming, also I get really dizzy. And thats with a walker,or a cane. Most of the time when I am out shopping I use a scooter or my wheelchair.
If I am having a good day I will try to walk unaided, but end up having symptoms that I mentioned earlier. So should I ask for one?

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
Most neuros won't think you're trying to get one just for the hell of it. Many realize that it takes a huge psychological shift in terms of how you perceive yourself and your abilities to even ask for one. You pick up the form at the DMV, fill out all that you can, and ask your neuro to fill out his or her part.
Be very direct with your neuro as to why you need the permit, i.e. "When I am out and about, I manage my energy by using a scooter or wheelchair. If I happen to use my cane or walker, I cannot walk 200 feet without risking injury due to a fall."
If you have a good day, you might not need it, but the placard gives you the flexibility (and close parking space) you need to be out and about.

Just download it, and next time you see your neuro have him sign it. :)
Says Ask...Ask anytime for anything...get over the 'possiblity' of someone saying No.
If that is the worse case senario, well?
What others think of you is no matter. It is what you think of yourself.
So ask.
Just ask and you don't have to be in a wheel chair to qualify.. MS is not going away so get all the help you can.
My mom has MS, I don't. So, I hope you don't mind my commenting on your discussion.
