HI All,
My foot started dropping last year. This is my 2nd round of PT. Some kind person on here told me about an AFO. So I asked the Neuro for one he said okay. The PT has been fighting me on it. He thinks with shocking the muscle and the PT it will come back. I have been going for a month again they just signed me up for another month of PT. But I will say my fatigue is so bad I get tired of any reps more than 7.So if I tire how will I build up muscle?
Your thoughts would be appreciated. I am sick of tripping every 2nd or third step.
Thanks,
Mary

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Is that your new baby?
I did wear a brace for a while with special shoes and it helped me from tripping all of the time. But I hated wearing it. I don't care to advertise that I have a disability, but that's just me.
I eventually stopped wearing the brace after about two months and it is my feeling that it's better not to wear one. Eventually my leg did get stronger again although not perfect. I don't think it would have gotten any better if I had become dependent on the brace. But these are just my feelings.
Try not to walk on carpets or grass, or for that matter, any uneven surface. I go barefoot at home. Try out different shoes. I found sneakers to be the worst because of the rubber treads on the bottom.
Hope this helps. Keep a leg up.
Maggie
I am sure he is wonderful.
But that is a very cool pic.
Maggie- I am with you on being barefoot at home but I usually wear socks the tile is cold and it shocks my feet. I need to shop for light weight shoes just too tired to do it.
I wish it would go away just for a while it's so fustrating.
