Does this sound like MS? I'm losing sleep...

deleted_user
I'm a female in my early 20s. For about 6 years, I've experienced muscle twitches in muscles all over my body. It's like the twitches you get in your eyelid, except it's all over my body. This usually happens perhaps once a day and happens more often when I'm stressed out.
I also get this generalized dull achy pain in my arms and legs. It feels like my muscle needs to be stretched but when I stretch it, it doesn't help. I don't know if it's a cramp, nerves, or what. This happens a few times a month and it's usually when I'm stressed.
I also occasionally have weird brief pains in my hands and feet. Its like a quick sharp pricking pain. It also seems to happen more when I think and worry about it .
It also seems like a have a few more floaters in my right eye. However, I went to the optometrist a few months ago and he said that my optic nerves were okay.
I'm not sure what to do. I went to the GP 5 years ago for my muscle twitches and she said that it was probably just stress. I don't have any muscle weakness, numbness, or loss of coordination. I'm a hypochondriac and quite honestly, I'm sick of crying "wolf." But I am worried and I'm losing sleep and not enjoying life anymore because I'm terrified that I'm sick with MS.
Any ideas? Could this all be stress-related? I am a very stressed out (obviously) individual and easily prone to anxiety.
Thanks!! :)

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Get a full blood work-up as well to be sure everything is as it should be for your age.
It could also be stress, depression, and yes, even MS. HOwever, I wouldn;t be too quick to jump on MS just yet. To diagnose MS, they have to rule everything else out anyway, so mind as well get started!
I hope you get some answers soon, and also feel better :)

Good luck, and I hope you find out what it is, and that it is not MS.
I agree with the others who have said full blood work up, write down your symptoms & what worries you, also what timing the muscle twitching & pains occur & what you were doing.
All this will help your dr to work out what is wrong.
I hope that it doesnt turn out to be ms.
Also I would try some ralaxing techniques, whether it is yoga, pilates or music, whatever relaxes you, that will help you in lots of ways.
Take care,
Sue
I live in the UK, so a lyme diagnosis is not an option.
I too have written on here, that I am worried about having MS, but that t could be lyme disease.
This is what I wrote previously:-
I am still awaiting diagnosis, but wondered if it sounds like MS.
I have an episode where I suddenly get really tired, not just physically but mentally too, its like I just seem to fade.
My feet burn a lot of the time, on my soles and under my arches.
My scalp itches sometimes and the skull aches.
I get heel itch really badly and at random times, I can scratch and
scratch but I cant get rid of the itch.
Writing this is very difficult as I am finding that the letters are jumbling up in my head, almost like a dyslexia, except I have never had a problem spelling words before.
I get mild nerve twinges on my face for no reason.
I get heavy legs sometimes, where it feels like I am really unfit
or heavy.
My energies change sometimes I don't have these problems
Do any of these symptoms sound like MS?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer, I know how difficult it can be.

I will add to that list that my finger tips burn sometimes too and that
I sometimes have trouble sleeping properly.
