My son, 20, has probably 20 MS symptoms & optic neuritis but nothing yet appears on an MRI. He has been to two neurologists specializing in MS and both say he doesn't have MS. Do many or most doctors not diagnose without a positive mri? It is very frustrating for him without any symptom relief. One supposed top Seattle neuro thought the multiple meds he's taking for his bipolar, etc is perhaps the cause of his symptoms. (???) Is this typical in the early stages or is it a philosophical difference in diagnosis? Thanks Steve (Tacoma, Wa)
