Hi Everyone-
I know I have not been around at all lately and for that I do apologize. Life has been crazy busy for me. My girls have activities everynight, plus their homework, plus I started and am coaching a jump rope team at their school. I am also hard at work on the PTU at school, and the reverse raffle (if anyone knows of a business or individual that will give a good raffle item PLS let me know)and the capital campaign at church to build the kids a new gym and new meeting rooms/ classrooms. I have been feeling great. I just need to be sure to get alot of sleep at night and try to fit in a quick nap during the day. Really being tired is my only complaint. Lucky me, I know.
Now my question:
I am on Copaxone. And I like it. I dont want to switch drugs. I dont think I could handle a bigger/IM shot and I cant deal with flu like symptoms. BUT... the only spot I "like" to do my shot in my belly. I always hurt myself when I do another spot, I get huge brusies and I bleed and it just plain hurts. My Dr has helped me set my autoinjector, so I know the right level for each site... doesnt help. I tried just self injecting... cant do it, I dont have the stomach for needles. I have tried hot packs and cold packs before and after, tylenol before and after, having my husband to the shot for me... nothing helps.
WHY do I have to rotate sites??? Cant I do do my shot in a different part of my belly each day???
Thoughts??
THANKS!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I also just use my abd or bottom and don't have problems.
SS has never been a great help because they don't TAKE this drug. If you would start getting big bruises or hard areas I would change sites.
Hugs
I rarely do my arms anymore. When I did Avonex (Intermuscular with a VERY long needle I only used my thighs an tried different locations on them. If you're not having problems, I don't think it is critical.
One thing that did help me to remember where I need to do it was a person who said to picture a circle overlaying my body and pick sites successively around it (like left arm, which I often skip, left of abdomem, left butt, left thigh, rt thigh, rt butt, rt abdomen, rt arm (again often skip).
Isn't this soooo fun.

I'd think you could get away with skipping one or two areas if it's that bad, but you should try to at least grab a good backup site to your tummy. Have you tried upper butt instead of "hip"?
