ok, here's the situation. my employer recently changed insurers' and the new coverage offers short term disability for mental/substance abuse. but the brochure states that it only covers up to 90 days in a 12 month period. i thought the parity law excluded that kind of imbalance, or was that only for health care provider coverage? if anyone has any information or can point me in the direction for more information i'd appreciate it. i'm glad to know i have at least that benefit, it is a huge relief - 90 days is better than nothing even with the restrictions. a two week elimination period and it pays only 60% of my base salary but it could make all the difference in the world if i need it - and the way things have been lately i might. thanks.
