Hi everybody. Just wanted to share something with y'all. There are bandages/dressings that are treated w/ nanoparticles of silver that are Very effective in treating and preventing further contamination of MRSA.
I am including a webaddress where you can check out the many different types offered. I have been researching these online all day and it seems like these are a Most Excellent idea for anyone w/ MRSA lesions.
In my research I found that two nurses in the UK fought until it was made mandatory that these type dressings started being used in the hospitals to help prevent more cases of MRSA...(God bless those nurses).
Now, the bad news...these are Very expensive! A local home-health store ordered them for me and for a box of 12 2x2 dressings it is $150.00, but I have one of those Fiserv Health Flex cards ( like a debit card) and they will pay for mine. If you don't have one of these but do have regular health insurance, my advice would be to have your Dr. write you a Rx for them so that your insurance will pay at least part of the cost. Also you can find the Acticoat brand on Ebay. I don't know about the other brands.
I can not stress enough how important I think it is that we all have and use these because MRSA bacteria Can & Does pass thru regualr gauze bandages but it can NOT penetrate thru these! The silver actually KILLS the MRSA! HooRay!!! Finally, something to cheer about! Even our smallest victories must celebrated! Best Wishes to all! Love and Prayers.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
tandem with a week of 4 hour
vancomyacin IVs. It was a relief, but in my case, no cure.
I actually had the silver packing when I had a surgical wound as well with the MRSA. It does help heal it 10 times faster than anything else. Silver bandages and packings are wonderful products. They maybe a little costly however if it works then it is worth the money for them.
Good luck everyone.
