My son contracted MRSA in the ICU at Children's Hospital after a quite massive abdominal surgery at 2 months old. I was under the impression that MRSA was a staph infection that only negatively affected young sick children or elderly people. He was never given any meds, we were just in isolation room (so annoying but necessary) for the next 5 months that he was hospitalized. He then had to have 3 negative tests before he could be taken off the isolation list. I was never told that MRSA could cause other medical problems or anything like that!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I had to go though 3 docs before I was told it never goes away, just dormant awaiting a new infection to attach itself too, or that it lowers my immune system to the point of taking months to heal from the flu or anything else instead of weeks or days. They don't tell you to weigh any surgerys after it carfully cause it can come right back especially in a hospital setting.Every one is differant to a point with this, I am hoping you son gets well and stays well, without it spreading.you will be in my prayers.
