It was the 3 month anniversary of my mum's passing on the 12th April ( last Saturday ) and I have been crying ever since.
I was going along OK - the good days were lasting for so much longer. But then it hit me!
I decided today to do something for myself so I went and had a massage. As soon as I laid down on the bed I burst into tears. The poor man massaging me didnt know what to say. I tried to let out a bit of a giggle and explained that I had recently lost my mum and I was sad - But I was OK!
It was very relaxing thats for sure.
I then walked through the shops on my way down to the car park and EVERY SINGLE SHOP seemed to have all of these Mothers Day Gifts! beautiful plates with nice messages about Mums and photo frames with stuff about mums in them. I was fighting back the tears all the way through the shops until I got to my car and cried and cried.
WOW - Do I have to stay away from the shops now for the next 3 weeks? This is going to be a very hard mothers day. My kids didnt really treat me very well on my birthday on the 9th March so I am not expecting anything different on mothers day. And on top of that, I am going to be wishing MY MUM was here so I could spoil her!!
I might just go away somewhere on my own...
Now that sounds relaxing!!!!!!!
I think that we should have a tribute to our mothers here on Mothers Day. Maybe we can write a poem or just write something to our dear mums.
What do you all think?

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Love and hugs,
Angela
I would love to give tribute here. Sam, that was a great idea and I am SO sorry to hear of your recent loss. There is no loss like a mother's.

It was my brother and my tradition to get mom a hanging plant too. I'm still going to get one and hang it at my house. I also thought of ordering my grandma one. Mom did that and grandma said that she was going to have to get herself one.
I know it is going to be hard but what I'm thinking of doing is things that honor her memory and she would love to happen. It would feel like I'm still giving her a mother's gift. It is mother's day and a day to honor mom's and that is what I still plan on doing. It will just be the first time without her.
Hope that helps some of you.

I don't know how I am going to get through it -- I don't know how my dad is going to get through it! It's hard and I am really dreading it, too.
:( I know what you mean. I won't even walk down a card aisle in the drugstore. Can't handle it. I love your idea of the tributes~ we should have a tribute to our Mothers! That is a great idea! We should start two threads...one for poems/creative writing and one for letters to our Moms. What do you ladies think? Love-Holly
Thanks for the suggestions!
